Jones-Drew should be near the top of your draft board

Soon we will come out with our 2009 Fantasy Football RB ratings. But before then I wanted to talk about Maurice Jones-Drew (“Pocket Hercules”) and his expanded role in Jacksonville. It seems to me now that he is the # 1 he should threaten Mr. “All DAY” for the top pick or at least the top 3 picks. The Jaguars O-line is improved with the drafting of two rookies and signing the veteran Tra Thomas.
Now will the Jaguars go to a total one back system?…probably not, I think the coaches like to keep their guys fresh, but the back ups, Greg Jones, Chauncey Washington, and Alvin Pearman and rookie Rashad Jennings do not inspire you to think huge fantasy numbers. The rookie Jennings from Liberty is a bit of an unknown however. Also don't forget Tory Holt is now a Jaguar so that may stretch the Defense a little (I think he will bounce back from his slump last year)

I think Jones-Drew is a safe pick for any of the top spots in your fantasy football draft…even 1st overall?….. Provided he stay healthy of course.
